Fallon’s Tristin Johnson, who was inducted into the Greenwave Hall of Fame in 2018, will instruct this summer’s volleyball camp.
One of the most successful setters in Wolf Pack history will host a three-day volleyball camp this month.
Tristin Johnson, a 2018 Greenwave Hall of Fame inductee who led the Greenwave to its only two state championships before starting all four years at Nevada, will instruct this year’s camp.
The camp runs from 9-11 a.m., July 27-29, at the city-county gym at 321 Venturacci Lane. The cost is $50, and campers will receive a T-shirt and ball. The camp is open to incoming fifth-eighth graders.
Campers will develop skills in teamwork and timing.
Also happening this month are football and cheer camps.
The Fallon Youth Football Camp is open to youth ages 5-14 and starts July 19. The camp, which ends July 23, runs from 5:30-8 p.m. next Monday and 6-8 p.m. from Tuesday-Friday. All sessions are at the high school. The cost is $50 per camper.
Football participants will develop fundamental techniques in blocking, tackling, ball handling, receiving, terminology and more. Instruction will be provided by local coaches and athletes.
The Fallon Youth Cheer Camp, which is open to youth above age 5, is July 26-28 and from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per camper, who will learn routines, stunts and basic cheers. Instruction will be provided by local coaches and athletes.
The location for the football and cheer camps has not been determined.
