You will see new changes to Best of Fallon 2023. This year we surveyed Fallon Chamber members and there was an overwhelming response to change the platform to voting only once per category for the entire contest, so we will be implementing that this year. This will be a trial year to see how the change is accepted by community and businesses.

There were concerns of the contest not running fairly, so we ask the general community and business owners to please be honest and be ethical during this contest. We do have some ways to watch this, like eliminating votes from fraudulent bots and votes from fake emails. Be honest. Be fair. There’s only so much our staff can do. We want to provide this contest for the community but it’s up to you all to make it as real and fair as possible.

After nominations a few categories were removed due to lack of entries.

Addressing some other concerns… As a reminder, you are not required to vote for every category. If you are a business owner and you place in the top 3, you will be contacted by our team. Reach out to us if you do not hear from us, most likely we do not have the right contact info for you.

To summarize the changes this year:

• You can vote once per category for the entire contest. Nominations still need to be once per day.

We are excited for this year’s contest. The voting period is Sept. 7 – 24. As always, there will be print ads, digital ads and social media posts to remind you of these dates. Give us time to contact all winners and put the results guide together for a publish date of November 9th in the Lahontan Valley News. We wish all the business owners’ luck and thank you to the community for recognizing your hardworking business owners.
