The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

- A 44-year-old self-employed Carson City man was arrested at 7:28 p.m. Monday on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving and possession of a firearm while under the influence. Police allegedly found a loaded .357 magnum under the driver's seat.

- A 43-year-old Douglas County school custodian was arrested at 1 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Fairview Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,132. He allegedly threw a hot plate of food on his wife and pushed her during an argument.


n Deputies responded to the following calls:

- A 57-year-old Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate, serving two to eight years on an attempted lewdness with a minor charge, died in the prison infirmary Monday at 9:29 a.m.

- A woman reported at 9:09 a.m. Saturday she was battered by a fellow employee at a Carson City convalescent center.

- A mother reported at 5:11 p.m. Monday her 11-year-old son was slapped so hard by his grandmother his nose bled.

- Two juveniles were arrested at 3:13 p.m. Saturday at the J.C. Penney department store for shoplifting.

- A window was smashed and a hood ornament broken off a vehicle in the 300 block of Burton Street on Saturday.
