Spring brings plenty of activities

It is definitely spring, and there is a lot of fun coming your way.

Take me out to the ballgame - well, to the Peppermill Casino - to enjoy a night baseball fun.

The annual fundraiser for Western Nevada Community College benefits not only its baseball program, but soccer and rodeo as well.

Help all the young adults who participate in college sports. Charley Kerfeld, a 1981 Carson High School graduate, will be a guest speaker.

Those of you who know the Kerfeld boys know they know how to have fun, so come enjoy a three-course prime-rib meal, plus hosted wine and beer.

The Carson City Elks Lodge presents Tommy's Annual Fishing Derby. I never forget to put this one in, thanks to Nita Yeager, who always reminds me.

This no-fee fishing day with free hamburgers and hot dogs is great for the children and grandchildren, age 2 to 12. Watching them realize they have a bite on the line is so much entertainment, so bring the camera.

The biggest fish caught gets a prize.

Sometimes we forget the simple things, like sitting around throwing a line in, crossing our fingers and waiting, feeling the sun on our faces ...

Carson City Soroptimist International presents "Melodrama in May" with the Misfits Theatre's presentation of interactive theater for all ages.

The Misfits are well-known group from Dayton that turns the stage into a magical performance.

If you're tried of the movies or the same old stuff on television, come watch how these actors who make the stage come alive.
