Carson City investigators are looking for an Idaho man suspected of cashing several fraudulent checks over the course of the past two weeks.

Brett Allen Remick, 50, is wanted for questioning after deputies served a search warrant on a room rented in Remick's name at the Plaza Hotel.

A computer, typewriter, blank-check forms and other check-making equipment along with "tons of porn" and clothing were allegedly recovered during the search.

"He left everything," said Detective Dave Legros.

Legros said he suspects Remick, with the help of locals, created and cashed at least 10 fraudulent checks from a fictitious company named Sunset Distribution out of Nampa, Idaho.

Remick is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown eyes and thinning brown hair. He holds a commercial driver's license out of Idaho and is wanted in Idaho on felony warrants.

If you see Remick, or know of his whereabouts, contact Legros at 887-2020 ext. 1400 or Carson City dispatch at 887-2007.
