Wild Hockey drops two

The High Sierra Wild Pee Wee ice hockey team dropped two games over the weekend against the Tri Valley Blue Devils of Vacaville, Calif.

Tri Valley is in first in the NorCal Hockey. The two losses dropped the Wild to fifth in the standings.

The Wild lost 4-1 on Sunday. Carson City's D.J. Freeman scored the only goal. Goalie Gabe Mier Y Teran made 45 saves. On Saturday, the Wild lost 10-0.

The Wild will travel to Santa Rosa, Calif., on Feb. 17-20 for a Presidents Day Tournament. The tournament will include teams from California, Nevada and Alaska.

The next league games for the Wild will be on Feb. 25 and 26 at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena.

Late signups for Carson softball

Late registration for the Carson Girls Softball spring league has been scheduled. Ages 4 1/2 to 14 are eligible.

Singups will be held Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carson City community Center during basketball games. Cost is $45 per player and $75 per family. For more information, call Shannon Withrow, 443-9073.
