A graveside service for Barbara J. Adams, 79, a former longtime Carson City resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams died Oct. 11, 2006, in Redding, Calif., from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Gardnerville, to Fred and Bernice (Brandon) Berning.

She was raised in Carson City, graduating from Carson High School in 1945.

She married Robert A. Adams on July 2, 1949 in Carson City.

She worked for Nevada Bell for many years.

She was a Lutheran.

She enjoyed genealogy and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, and brother, William Berning of Carson City.

Among her survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law Bob and Margie Adams of Redding and Dave and Anne Adams of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Allen & Dahl Funeral Home in Redding is in charge of arrangements.
