The smoke and haze hanging over Northern Nevada is the result of a large wildfire burning in Central California.

The low level of haze is expected to clear out this afternoon as the breezes pick up and the temperature increases, according to Kyle Mozley, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Reno.

The forecast for today calls for sunny skies with a high near 89 and breezy conditions with a west wind around 20 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph.

Tonight should be clear, with a low around 50 and breezy conditions. There will be a west wind between 10 and 20 mph gusting as high as 30 mph.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 80s through the middle of the week.
