The Carson High boys and girls tennis teams warmed up for their Sierra League opening showdowns with Douglas High by rolling to wins on Thursday against Damonte Ranch.
Carson's girls won 15-3 at the CHS courts while the Senator boys won 14-4 at Damonte.
For the girls, Hannan Shaw, Hannah Dudley and Elise Hansen all won both of their matches as Shaw won 6-1, 6-0, Dudley won 6-2, 7-5 and Hansen won 6-2, 6-0. Also in singles, Megan Craig won 6-3, Allex Fallon won 6-2 and Tiffany Moore won 6-1 as Carson won all nine singles matches.
In doubles, Jena Greenburg and Joanna Xie won both of their matches, winning 6-0, 6-1. Also in doubles, Alysssa Corda and Briana Collings won 7-6, Stephanie Adamson and Carrie Linn won 6-0 and Linn also teamed with Elizabeth Linn to win 6-0. In addition, Sara Shores and Kristin Howard won 6-4.
Adamson and Jessica Adams played well in a 6-7 (5-7) loss, Danielle Moffitt and Oliva Hersey played well in a 4-6 loss and Amanda Otto and Taylor Mosley played well in a 3-6 loss.
In other matches, Emma Kortemeir won 6-0 in singles and McKenna Keefer and Molly Champion won 6-0 in doubles.
For Carson's boys, Spencer Brinson, Ben Henningsen and Thomas Hollenbreck/Pringle all rolled to easy wins in singles while Brad Cobler and Jordan Rogers, James Pelz and Spencer Trapp and Alex and Tyler Wing all rolled to easy victories in doubles in the first round.
Also for Carson in singles, Jon Kane played well in a 6-7 loss to Damonte's No. 1 player and Kris Canonigo and Gordon Lee both played well in 4-6 losses. Another highlight came for Carson when Coulter Thomas beat Damonte's No. 1 player 7-5. Also in singles, Adam Whitt won 6-0 and Brinson won two matches.
In doubles, including exhibition matches, Tom Dudley and Ricky Nyguen won 7-5, Ian Gentner and Spencer Gibb played well in a 2-6 loss, Luke Gentner and Collin Grischott won 6-4, Tyler Simms and Tyler Smith won 6-1, J.J. Aragon and Matt McDaniel played well in a 5-7 loss and Kevin Craig and MIke Montiel played well in a 2-6 loss.
Carson's boys will host Douglas and the Senator girls will visit Douglas on Tuesday.
