Strong southwest winds from 25-40 mph are buffeting the area with gusts up to 70 mph and some scattered showers. Winds will decrease late in the morning becoming west 15-25 mph in the afternoon with partly cloudy skies in the afternoon with highs 58-68.

Highway road conditions as reported by the Nevada Department of Transportation as of 6:46 a.m., Wednesday:

All routes are open with no controls with the following exceptions "

IR80: Chains mandatory for 23.94 miles between Nyack California Exit 156 and 1.26 miles west of Junction Donner Lake Road Exit 180.

US50: Chains mandatory for 11 miles between 10.56 miles east of Kyburz California and 4.1 miles west of Junction of California State Route 89.

US395: Open with no controls, high wind advisory: campers and trailers are not advised for 6.05 miles between 2.33 miles north of Junction US 395 Business and State Route 529-North Carson Street and 0.02 miles south of Winters Ranch.
