Funeral services for Richard Eugene Babcock, a 15-year-resident of Yerington, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home.

Mr. Babcock died Sept. 6, 2007, at Renown Regional Medical Center. He was 80.

Mr. Babcock was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Redmond, Ore., to William Babcock and Della Tuttle Babcock. He was married to Geraldine.

Mr. Babcock served in the Navy during World War II.

He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church, president and trail boss of the Camellia City Broncos Jeep Club and president of the Les Amies Dance Club.

He spent seven years traveling to every state capital with his wife.

Mr. Babcock is survived by his wife; son William W. Babcock; daughters Donna L. Dillon and Linda C. Wirick; sister Cora Mae Durr; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
