Tomorrow night the weather is going to get cold and forecasters expect it to be cold for the next week.
Cover tomatoes, peppers, squash, melons, pumpkins, cucumbers, and basil to protect them from potential frost damage.
Don't use plastic sheeting. Use paper bags (rocks can hold down the handles), blankets, or upside down containers. Weight everything for the wind. Also, tuck the edges into the soil to keep out cold air.
The National Weather Service in Reno, says Wednesday's forecast calls for wind, and mostly cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of precipitation and a chance of thunderstorms after 11 a.m. the high will be near 69. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts near 30 mph.
Wednesday night will also be breezy and mostly cloudy with chance of showers. Lows dropping to 42 with west winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts near 30 mph shifting to the northwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight.
Highs and lows will linger in the low 70s and 40s respectively through the weekend,
