Cooking assistants needed for Women's Expo

Four volunteer assistants to assist the "Taste of Home" Cooking Chef Kristi Larson are needed for two live cooking demonstrations in partnership with the area's first Women's Expo, Sept. 19-21. The four volunteer assistants need to be knowledgeable in cooking; they need to be available four hours before the show and during the entire show, and must agree to be on-stage with the chef. Strings in Summer presents concert

Carson City Symphony hosts "Strings in the Summer" at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Carson Mall, 1191 S. Carson Street. This is a free concert featuring 30 string players of all ages. For information, call 297-3437.

Democratic Women's Club hosts non-partisan forum

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will host a non-partisan forum for candidates for Carson City supervisor, Saturday, Aug. 9, Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2611 S. Carson Street. Amateur Radio License testing

The next testing session for Amateur Radio Licenses will be Saturday, Aug. 9. Registration is 8-10 a.m., 8755 Cimarron Trail, Stagecoach. Bring photo identification, original license and photocopy.
