Weekend weather; road work ongoing

Today's weather will be sunny in the morning becoming partly cloudy with highs 86-96 with light winds becoming west around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear with lows 52-62 with west winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening.

Saturday, sunny with highs 84-94 with west winds around 10 mph shifting to the southwest 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night, clear with lows 50-60 with west winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening becoming light.

Sunday, sunny with highs 83-93 with light winds becoming southwest around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:33 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
