Warm and breezy weather today

Today's weather will be sunny and breezy with highs around 93 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, breezy and clear with lows in the 50s, and west winds 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph decreasing to around 10 mph after midnight.

Tuesday, sunny with highs around 89 with light winds becoming northeast around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

Road work also continues on Hot Springs Road from Northridge to Roop Street. Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:20 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
