Thursday weather outlook; road conditions for northern Nevada

Today's weather calls for a slight chance of rain and snow in the morning, then chance of rain and snow in the afternoon; snow level 5000-5500 feet. Highs 38-48 with south winds around 10 mph.

Tonight, rain and snow in the evening then chance of rain and snow after midnight. Snow level 5500 feet lowering to the valley floor after midnight; little to no accumulation of snow on the valley floors. Lows 23-33 with southwest winds 10-15 mph.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:11 a.m. reports all roads in northern Nevada open with no controls.

Areas of utility work continue on Carson City streets, most notably on Fairview Drive from Silver Sage to South Edmonds, and on Highway 50 East from Saliman Road to Airport Road.

Expect delays on Highway 50 in both travel directions. Drive carefully through these areas.
