High wind warning for Washoe Valley; rain moves into area

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:23 a.m. reports the following road controls in Northern Nevada:

Highway 395 open with no controls; high wind advisory: campers and trailers are not advised for six miles in Washoe Valley between Lake View Boulevard and Winters Ranch.

SR 431 - snow tires or chains required for 7.8 miles between 4.8 miles north of SR 28 and 11.9 miles south of Highway 395.

A wind advisory in effect until 6 p.m. Today's weather will be windy with isolated showers; highs 51-61 with west winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

Tonight, breezy and mostly cloudy with scattered showers; snow level 5500 feet. Lows 24-34 with west winds 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph decreasing to west 10-20 mph after midnight.
