Carson tennis teams rout Damonte Ranch

The Carson High boys continued to receive strong all-around play from its entire lineup in a 12-6 win over Damonte Ranch on Thursday at CHS.

Carson coach Kevin Fallon said he likes how his entire team is progressing as it enters a key Sierra League match on Tuesday at Douglas. Carson built a 10-2 lead against Damonte over the first two rounds in cruising to the win.

The Senators received strong doubles play from Jordan Rogers and Tyler Simms who won 7-6 (7-4) and 6-2. Jon Kane and Ricky Nguyen won 6-1 and Matt McDaniel and Thomas Hollenbeck-Pringle won 6-1. Kane and Nguyen also played well in a 6-7 (8-10) loss.

"I see doubles really pulling together and improving in their teamwork," Fallon said.

In singles, Spencer Brinson won 6-2. "Spencer is Spencer," Fallon said. "He's a very complete tennis player."

Also in singles, Adam Whitt won 6-3, 6-1, Gordon Lee won 6-0, 6-1, Blake Sly won 6-3, 6-0 and Peter Brinson won 6-1. Casey Good also played well in a 4-6 loss.

CHS GIRLS 18, DAMONTE 0

The Carson girls swept past Damonte as it also prepares for a key Sierra League match against Douglas at CHS on Tuesday in a match that will go a long way in determining the Senators' Northern 4A playoff hopes.

In singles, Tiffany Moore won 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, Emily Colliins won 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, Sara Shores won 6-3, 6-3 and Alex Fallon won 6-4. In doubles, Hannah Dudley and Elise Hansen won 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, Hannah Shaw and Alyssa Corda won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 and Breanna Collings and Bridjett Huish won 6-2, 6-0, 7-6.

GALENA BOYS 17, WOOSTER 1

In singles for Galena, Shane Leeder won 6-0, Joey Prescott won 6-0, 6-0, Graham Harris won 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, Steven Day won 6-3, Nick Potter won 6-2. Connor Bradley won 7-6 (7-5).

Winners in doubles for Galena were Jeremy Grubbs and Kyle Karrasch (6-2) Don Maland and Tyson Wright (6-0, 6-2), Evan Bender and Nicholoas Wesley (6-2), Adam Casey and Thomas Moore (6-0), Matt Carpenter and Jeff Harris (6-1) and Drew Wesley and Brice Berman (6-0, 6-1).

GALENA GIRLS 17, WOOSTER 1

In singles for Galena, Mica Olson won 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, Hailey Llop won 6-3, 6-2, Hannah Llop won 6-0, 6-3, 6-3 and Natasha Monga won 6-1. In doubles, Lindy Deller and Adie Potter won 6-1, Emily McClintock and Leann Roggensack won 6-0, 6-1, Anna Roach and Kelsey Rummler won 6-0, 6-0, Alex Darling and Ellen Ferguson won 6-0, 6-0 and Kylee Joseph and Olivia Mason won 6-4.
