Carson below Hangman's Bridge: Flow 275 cfs. Catch and release, very cold water coming down and rising. Nymph the holes with a PT, caddis pupa, copper johns in 16 - 18. You can get them on dark steamers in the sunnier areas, like the confluence when the sun is on it earlier in the day. Some midge hatches are coming off with the sun, BWO and a small amount of Calibeatis. No bait, single barbless hooks.

Carson in Gardnerville: Flow is 291 cfs. This past week we saw a few golden stones come off. Water flows are getting closer to run-off. Stocking should take place in the next few weeks at Ruhenstroth dam. The back water is seeing some rises, adams patterns if you want to work at it a bit, nymphing will produce a bit more action: golden stone with a PT or copper john drop on a #1 rig.

Walker at Rosaschi: Flow is 128 cfs. It looks like flows will now continue to go up, gearing up for irrigation. At 150 it's a good idea to take a wading staff. Nymphing producing some nice fish with a Bubbleback midge and a PT on top. Check the water temperature, if it's close to 46 or above, put on a black or olive bugger. San Juan worms (red) and red zebra midges did well in the lower section.

Walker Below Dam: Flow is 125 cfs. It fished excellent this past week. Dry action on Para Madame X, drowned caddis. Could not keep them off of a BSB in size 14. Large streamers were promptly wacked at, I've not heard anything that they are not taking. A nice mix of yearlings and larger fish. Because of the recent articles in Flyfisherman and Southwestern it's getting a bit busy.

Truckee River: Flow is 427 cfs. Water is very cold right now, go deep or go home. If the sun gets into an area that produces a midge hatch, try comparadun adams or PT's.

Indian Creek Res: Bugs: zebra midges in black or red, zug bugs, princes and you can try a damsel if the sun heats up just a bit more from shore.

Red Lake: Ice fishing is going well. Jigging worms or a nice juicy meal worm. If you need the Ice fishing gear, we're directing everyone to Woodford's Station on Highway 88, he'll have it for you plus the bait.
