Somebody has invented a new kind of writing called the "stylograph." We don't know what the thing is, but we recommend some of our correspondents to adopt the new style, as anything will be an improvement upon their old style.

All last week the Carson plumbers were kept busy repairing breaks in water pipes. The sudden cold snap of the previous Sunday did the work. It is claimed that the temperature was not so low as it was on previous occasions yet the drought was much greater.

During the month of January - the first in which the Nevada unemployment compensation division wrote weekly checks " two unemployed Carson City workers received benefit payments totaling $30. Statewide, 524 jobless workers drew $7,665.70 in unemployment insurance money.

Mayor Turner Huston received a four-point program to help control the local dog population from a special study committee. As part of the program, the city will adopt a dog control ordinance, build a kennel, employ a qualified person to perform the duties of pound master and provide a suitable vehicle for the pound master to perform his duties.

Legislators have revived the issue of surrogate motherhood in Nevada with two bills, one that would regulate agreements and another to outlaw such contracts altogether.
