Reno has started on a new track, which seems to us worthy of consideration and possibly imitation. Just now Carson is infested with tramps and thieves. Possibly we've got Reno's share, and if so it is a pity not to make Carson as warm as that burg. According to the Journal: Last Saturday night the Vigilantes were out again, this time in somewhat different role than heretofore. The tar bucket did not figure, but the "cat-'o-nine tails" did. A nest of sixteen vags was captured and a sound thrashing was administered to all and the whole affair quietly conducted, showing that 601 must be thoroughly organized.

A. B. Stoddard, who for the past 20 years has been grand keeper of the records and seals of the Grand Lodge of Knights of Pythias, is quite ill, and according to prominent Knights, Mr. Stoddard will, at the close of his term, refuse to accept the office again. Mr. Stoddard is one of the most prominent Knights in Nevada.

Chester Parker, county game warden, today arrested John Capurro for fishing in Clear Creek, a closed stream. Capurro hails from a camp near Brockway.

In recognition of the work of the staff of the Carson-Tahoe hospital to the community, Carson Players director F. G. (Nick) Carter said today he would invite as many of the staff as possible to attend a special dress rehearsal of "Private Lives" Monday night. George Cristeser and Fred Nostrand are finishing the scenery and Mayadelaide Palmer is directing.
