Another runaway - About 4 o'clock last evening, a horse and buggy were crossing the railroad track on Carson and a locomotive whistle startled the horse. It started down Washington street, fouling a post on Nevada street. It left the buggy a wreck ... the driver was looking for some spokes and the off fore wheel at 10 o'clock last night.

Society Gossip - The ladies of the Episcopal church are busy making real downy comforters, head-rests for easy chairs to be sold at their festival ... which will take place during the last week of November.

Seen, Heard or Thought by E.T.C. - For last year's Admission Day celebration, residents from Reno made the round trip on the Virginia and Truckee special train ... because of the desire to take advantage of what they deemed the last chance to take a journey on trains of a historic railroad ... This year they came because it was the best and cheapest mode of transportation.
