The Editor's Joke: The other day the editor of the Dutch Flat Forum concluded to have some fun with his subscribers and announced that the Forum would cease publication until "next winter." Of course, his contemporaries forgot that winter begins on December 22.

(Continued from Tuesday) The fact that Latham killed one duck has Kitzmeyer bringing the matter of using a flying machine to kill more. Kitzmeyer has in mind to buy a machine with two seats, so he can bring someone along with him. It would not only be good sport, but keep the ducks moving for other hunters.

Plans for the construction of a new $700,000 mine loading plant at the Hawthorne naval base have been completed and ready for congressional approval, Congressman J. G. Scrugham said today.

Nevada's park commission was deterred in leasing the old Virginia & Truckee railroad roundhouse in Carson City for storage due to an oral opinion from the chief deputy attorney general that only allows leasing of property for parks use, not storage.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson City's finances got a clean bill of health this week in its annual audit. A project loss in sales tax revenue was estimate to be about $150,000.

10 YEARS AGO

Carson High School plans to erect a Tree of Life to remember 14 students and faculty members who made a difference at the school that have died.
