It's a Holiday Treat for all – a feast of seasonal and holiday entertainment. The Carson City Symphony and Carson Chamber Singers, joined by the Victorian Dancers, and Joyful Noise Carson Children’ Choir, present the 38th annual Holiday Treat concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.
Consort Canzona early music ensemble will perform at 3 p.m. in the lobby.
Treat your whole family: tickets are $18 general admission; $15 for seniors, students, and Symphony Association members; and free age 18 and under. Tickets are available in advance at online at CCSymphony.com, and can be purchased at the door. Carson City COVID guidelines will be observed.
The combined symphony and chorus will open the concert with Leroy Anderson’s familiar A Christmas Festival, and will join forces with the youth choir for Sing Noel, a medley of African Noel and Go, Tell It on the Mountain.
The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director-Conductor David Bugli, will perform Fantasia on We three Kings, Sinfonia Pastorale from “Messiah,” and March of the Toys from “Babes in Toyland.” Brian Fox will conduct the orchestra in Rumores, a Nativity song from Nicaragua. The Carson Chamber Singers, directed by Richard Hutton, will sing Wexford Carol, and Salvation is Created.
The Victorian Dancers, directed and choreographed by Tiffany Alm, will whirl and swirl to the sound of Emile Waldteufel’s Roses de Noel waltz and Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride.
Performers and audience will join together for the traditional Holiday Treat finale, A Christmas Singalong.
Recipients of the Rosemary Nebesky Scholarship for 2022 will be recognized at the concert. Blood donors may receive a complimentary ticket to the concert.
