It’s a Holiday Treat for all — a feast of seasonal and holiday entertainment in many styles. The Carson City Symphony and Carson Chamber Singers, joined by the Victorian Dancers, present the 36th annual Holiday Treat concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

The Joyful Noise Carson Children’s Choir, directed by Michelle Powers, will perform at 3 p.m. in the lobby.

Treat your whole family: tickets are $18 general admission; $15 for seniors, students, and Symphony Association members; and free age 18 and under. Tickets are available in advance at the Nevada Day Store, 716 N. Carson Street; online at CCSymphony.com; and at the door.

The combined symphony and chorus will open the concert with Leroy Anderson’s familiar A Christmas Festival, and will join forces for the French carol, Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella; Home for the Holidays; and the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Messiah.

The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director-Conductor David Bugli, will perform several works, including Silver Bells, Hanukkah Songs, The Christmas Song, and The Polar Express. The Carson Chamber Singers, directed by William Belcher, will sing O Holy Night, All Through the Night, Sing Gloria, and Grant Us Thy Peace.

The Victorian Dancers, choreographed by Tiffany Alm and directed by Toni VanCleave, will whirl and swirl to the sound of Johann Strauss Jr.’s Wiener Blut waltzes and perform J.P. Meder’s Hank Monk Schottische, a dance popular on the Comstock in Victorian times.

Recipients of the Rosemary Nebesky Scholarship for 2019 will be recognized at the concert. Performers and audience will join together for the traditional Holiday Treat finale, A Christmas Singalong.

Blood donors may receive a complimentary ticket to the concert. Donate at Vitalent’s Carson City Donor Center through Saturday. Call 775-887-9111 for Donor Center hours.

This concert is supported, in part, by public funds through a grant from the Carson City Cultural Commission; the Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts; and by private donations. For more information, see CCSymphony.com or call the Symphony at 775-883-4154.
