Carson City


Computer Class registration at senior center


Registration opens Monday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive, for an "Introduction to Computers" class. The class is held from 9-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Aug. 12 through Sept. 4. Cost of the class is $40 and can be paid at the business office, where you may also register. Memorial Golf Tournament coming


Third annual Kenny Prestella Memorial Golf Tournament will be 8 a.m. July 26 at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Cost is $100 per person. There will be a shotgun start, four man scramble, best ball, two longest drives holes, two closest to the hole and a raffle. Top three teams will win a cash prize. A barbecue in the Pavilion will follow the event. All proceeds will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation in memory of Kenny Prestella who died in April 2006 while serving as a volunteer to help the Temple Christian Elim Church in Mexico. A "welcome home" for Dr. Matthew McSweeney, D.V.M. will be 1-5 p.m, July 27 at Mo and Sluggo's Bar and Grill, 110 W. Telegraph St. He is a 1995 graduate of Douglas High School and the son of John and Thelma McSweeney. For information, call 883-8390.

Afternoon bingo at senior center


Doors open for the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club Community Bingo at noon, Sunday, July 20, Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. The early bird games start at 1 p.m. and regular games start at 1:30 p.m. Coffee and popcorn are free. The snack bar is open for other food. For information, call 783-6455.
