Fairview Drive closure begins Monday; breezy day ahead

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street will be closed westbound beginning Monday, June 9. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:10 a.m. reports all routes open in Northern Nevada with no controls with the exception of Highway 395:

Campers and trailers are not advised for 6 miles between Eastlake Boulevard and Winters Ranch in Washoe Valley.

Today's weather will be breezy and mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the morning with highs 56-66 and west winds 10-15 mph shifting to the north 15-20 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight, partly cloudy in the evening then becoming clear with lows 34-44 and north winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Thursday, sunny with highs 68-78 and light winds becoming west around 10 mph in the afternoon.
