Weather for the Carson City area begins with sunny skies becoming partly cloudy with highs 48-58 and northwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, shifting to the southwest in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows 23-33 and west winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening.

The Department of Transportation reports at 8:22 a.m. all roads in Northern Nevada open with no controls, with the exception of Highway 431 " snow tires or chains required for 11.2 miles between 3 miles north of SR 28 and 10.3 miles south of Highway 395.
