Isolated thunderstorms today in area

Weather for the Carson City area today will be sunny in the morning then partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly south of Highway 50. Highs 73-83 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Lows 40-50 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the evening.

Thursday, breezy and partly cloudy with highs 63-73 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph increasing to 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in the afternoon.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:41 a.m. for Northern and western Nevada all roads open with no controls.

Utility work is being done on Corbett and East John streets off North Roop Street.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House continues with posted lower speed limits and narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
