Charlie is survived by his wife Jan; two son's Charlie and Michael, their wife's Kitty and Mary; grandchildren Lindsey, Susan, and Craig; his mother Edna Duke; his brother and sister, Roger and Janet.

Charlie played college football for the University of Arizona and was co-captain his senior year. He was a 29 1/2 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department where he spent the majority of his career as an officer and sergeant with the SWAT team. Upon retirement, Charlie and Jan moved to the Dayton community where he built his retirement home. Charlie was active in his community and was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking his dogs on long walks in the mountains.

Charlie will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Charlie will be remembered at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Dayton Valley Country Club, 246-7888.
