Virginia Timmons, 74, a 27-year Carson City resident, died Feb. 27, 2006, at her home.

Mrs. Timmons was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Tennessee to Thomas and Elma Mitchell.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Seattle, Wash.

She received an associate's degree in accounting.

She was an avid reader of detective novels and a bird watcher. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Club of Carson City and the National Audubon Society.

Among her survivors are daughters and sons-in-laws Kathi Timmons and Rick Williams of Naples, Fla., and Jackie and Ralph Machado of Carson City; daughter Cyndi Dawson and significant other Lance Crosby of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law David and Cathie Timmons of Carson City; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carson City Library.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
